BOTOX® Cosmetic 

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a diluted neurotoxin commonly used to treat wrinkles in the upper face. The injectable can be administered in a quick treatment of 10 to 20 minutes with no downtime afterward. 

When injected, the neurotoxin stops the muscle contractions that form wrinkles in the upper face, allowing the skin to smooth itself out. Elimination of wrinkles lasts three to six months, and treatments tend to have longer-lasting results with each subsequent treatment. Further treatments with BOTOX® Cosmetic can be administered to maintain a wrinkle-free appearance.

BOTOX® Cosmetic can reduce facial wrinkles, such as:

• Chin wrinkles
• Crow’s feet
• Forehead lines
• Frown lines

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are designed to soften and reduce wrinkles, enhance facial volume, and improve the overall appearance of the face. Aging indications, such as fine lines, wrinkles, and creases, can all be addressed with injectable dermal fillers. Certain formulations can also be used to treat wrinkles and aging on the backs of the hands. 

Injectable fillers take a few minutes to inject, and there is no downtime after treatment. Results can last between three months and two years, depending on the filler used and how quickly your body breaks down the elements.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing can treat acne scarring, sun spots, and other similar skin imperfections to improve the overall facial appearance.

SCITON® Laser

Dr. Wald offers the Sciton® ThermaScan™ laser and the SkinTyte II™ laser to address wrinkles, acne scarring, and reduce blemishes by controlling the oil production process and providing smoother, softer, clearer skin.

INFINI™

The INFINI™ laser uses microneedling techniques combined with fractional radiofrequency waves to correct loose skin on the face and smooth out wrinkles. 

Sometimes called a non-surgical facelift, this approach to facial rejuvenation is appropriate for all skin types and is less invasive than traditional microneedling and dermabrasion.

• Laser Skin Resurfacing: This laser treatment uses an erbium-yag laser that emits a beam of light to remove unwanted tissue, such as scarred, wrinkled, and lined skin. It works by vaporizing the skin cells by emitting bursts of light  that are absorbed by the water in those cells. It can target:
  • Tiny wrinkles
  • Acne scars
  • Minor skin imperfections
• Sciton® Laser: Infrared energy is used to heat dermal collagen deeply while protecting the treatment area with sapphire contact cooling. Dr. Wald manipulates the laser to emit the wavelength appropriate for the target depth of damaged tissue. The Sciton® Laser can help to diminish the appearance of:
  • Blemishes
  • Acne and acne scarring
  • Lax, aged, or damaged skin

BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a highly popular injectable used to treat frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet. It is a neurotoxin formula derived from botulinum toxin type A, and it blocks nerve signals to slow muscle contractions and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Results last between three and six months, after which point many patients return for touch-up treatments. Interestingly enough, BOTOX® is also FDA approved to treat a number of medical conditions such as chronic migraine headaches, cervical dystonia, blepharospasms, and overactive bladder.

Injectable Fillers

In contrast with BOTOX® Cosmetic, injectable fillers do not interfere with nerve impulses and muscle contractions. Rather, they simply fill in the areas of the face where volume loss contributes to an aged appearance. They are also FDA approved and can effectively fill in wrinkles around the eyes, smile lines, nasal depressions, loss of jawline definition, loss of cheek volume, and thinning lips. The results of treatment with facial fillers may last longer than the results of treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic.

• JUVÉDERM®: This dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid can correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles. JUVÉDERM® can effectively treat smile lines, thin lips, loss of fat in the cheeks, loss of jawline definition, and wrinkles under the eyes.

• Restylane®: This dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid can also treat facial lines and folds. Restylane® can effectively treat loss of volume in the cheeks, creases around the mouth, and nasolabial folds.

• RADIESSE®: This injectable is made of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres and stimulates collagen production to improve skin elasticity. RADIESSE® can also effectively fill in wrinkles and treat smile lines, loss of volume in the cheeks, marionette lines, nasal depressions, and loss of jawline definition.

BOTOX® Cosmetic

This neurotoxin formula derived from botulinum toxin type A blocks nerve signals to temporarily paralyze facial muscles from contracting and causing facial wrinkles. Dr. Wald conducts the procedure on an outpatient basis at his Fullerton practice, and it takes only a few minutes per treatment. Patients need no downtime to recover, and they begin to see satisfying results within 24 to 48 hours. Results typically last between three and six months, after which time most patients return for touch-up treatments.

Injectable Fillers

Unlike BOTOX®, injectable fillers do not inhibit the movement of facial muscles to reduce wrinkles. Rather, they fill in the tissue where the wrinkles or lines are located to restore the face to a fuller and more youthful appearance. Dr. Wald offers the FDA-approved facial injectable fillers of JUVÉDERM®, Restylane®, and RADIESSE® at his Fullerton practice. These fillers can effectively treat wrinkles around the eyes, smile lines (nasolabial folds), thinning lips, loss of definition along the jawline, loss of volume in the cheeks, depressions in the nose, and more.

Treatment With the Sciton® Laser
