Weekend Breast Augmentation- Is it a Myth?

Many patients think that recovery from breast augmentation is 4-6 weeks. My patients, in most cases, can return to work in 3 to 5 days. The key to a fast recovery is the surgeons technique. By a meticulous, bloodless dissection, a pain pump postoperatively, and intraoperative marcaine in the breast pocket, patients have minimal pain and bruising. Ice packs over the breasts after surgery minimize the swelling and discomfort. Most patients are amazed by their fast recovery and minimal pain.

Facial Improvement in Difficult Economic Times

With the current economic conditions, people are afraid to spend a lot of money on plastic surgery. However, people continue to age and the lines, wrinkles and loose skin progress. A simplified face procedure can be done under local anesthesia and a weekend of downtime. This involves a tightening of the facial skin with a small incision in the hairline and lines of the preauricular area.

The results of this procedure along with facial fillers are quite pleasing. This approach allows the patient to enhance their appearance, feel better and with minimal cost and downtime.

Orange County Cosmetic Surgery

Enhance your Job Opportunities with Cosmetic Surgery

In this economy, jobs are very difficult to obtain. The competition is severe and companies are trying to minimize their costs. An older individual has to compete with younger applicants. Even though it may not be fair, companies tend to higher more youthful people.

For these reasons, individuals may choose cosmetic surgery to enhance their looks, make them look younger, and help them obtain a job. I hear frequently from my patients that following cosmetic surgery, people react to them differently. They no longer view them as old. These patients feel younger and their personalities reflect their outward youthful appearance.

This may be a good time to consider cosmetic surgery. Business is slow and taking 1-2 weeks for recovery my work well in today’s economy. A more youthful face and eyes may add years to ones working career. Money that is spent for this surgery is far better than watching it be lost in the stock market or other investment. The benefits are immediate and one that can be enjoyed on a daily basis.

Orange County Breast Reduction

More than pain relief

Breast reduction surgery in Orange County is performed to minimize discomfort in the neck, back, chest and shoulders. The ability to exercise and feel normal is also accomplished with this surgery.

What patients don’t expect following this surgery is the improved aesthetic appearance of their breasts. The breasts are smaller but better shaped and uplifted. This allows patients to fit into normal sized bras and clothing. Patients consistently tell me how this surgery has changed their lives and how this has helped their self confidence and attractiveness. This surgery creates an immediate and dramatic change in their body image.

Women who have large breasts and are willing to accept scars on their breasts are excellent candidate for this surgery. As mentioned, this surgery has more beneficial effects than symptom relief.

Plastic Surgeon vs. Dermatologist for Lesion/Cancer Removal

As we age, we develop lesions that may be skin cancer. This is especially true in individuals who have excessive skin exposure as a teenager. It has been proven that one severe sunburn contributes to the development of subsequent skin cancers.

Patients are unaware that most plastic surgeons remove and treat skin cancers and body lesions. When one considers the extensive surgical training that a plastic surgeon receives, it is obvious who is more qualified to remove these suspicious areas. Dermatologists are skin specialists that are best for diagnosing various skin conditions. Even though some dermatologists receive some surgical training, it does not compare with a plastic surgeon.

My advice for anyone who is concerned about scarring, they should seek the advice of a plastic surgeon. If their insurance plan refers them to a dermatologist, the patient should request from their primary care physician a referral to a plastic surgeon. A little bit of knowledge will save a patient the trauma of a unsightly scar.
